I never could get mine to work all that well. I guess the concept is fine, and if you have a self-contained spa it is your only real option. But, if you have a pool/spa combo you can just open the valve that causes the pump to draw water from the drains in your spa and gently brush the dirt to the drain. If you have a self-contained spa, keep it covered when not in use and when you are using it place a towel on the top step so everyone can clean their feet before entering. By the time it gets enough dirt and debris in it, it will be time to drain the spa anyway...then you can just clean it out with a wet-vac or towel.
Skim Pro Basket
Awesome invention. If you have ever taken you skimmer lid off only to find a snake, spider or some other critter, then this is what you need. You will be able to grab the top of the standpipe and safely remove the basket. Also, if you ever forget to emplty your basket (who me???) and it fills completely up with leaves, water can still flow throught the holes in the standpipe allowing for continued circulation (saving you from having to replace your motor and treat green water!). A must have!
